I am an Associate Professor at the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Tasmania, Australia in 2012, with a thesis on "Estimations of Educational Production Functions and Technical Efficiency of Public Primary Schools in Tasmania."
With over 20 years of experience in academia, I have served in various capacities at the International Islamic University Malaysia, progressing from Assistant Lecturer (2000-2001) to Lecturer (2002-2011), Assistant Professor (2012-2016), and now as Associate Professor (2016-present).
My research and teaching interests focus on Islamic Economics, Labor Economics, Educational Economics, and Third Sector Economics.
Exploring the epistemology, theoretical foundations, and empirical research in Islamic economics to develop the discipline further.
Researching labor market in Malaysia, AI and job-displacement, wage differentials, returns to education, and productivity issues from both conventional and Islamic perspectives.
Analyzing educational efficiency, educational production functions, and the economic impact of educational policies in Malaysia and OIC countries.
Exploring Islamic social finance, waqf (endowment) structures, and philanthropic models for socio-economic development.
